I have tried three times to purchase my cart, but the page doesn't respond!

Janelle said...

When I clicked back to the home page to try again it had me logged on as someone else with a completely different cart. I still can't get the cart to work. HELP!!!!

I'm also having some trouble; I WANT the red skein of TRI. Help?

Janelle, the system is hanging because of the heavy load of users. We're aware of it and are working on it right now. Keep trying. :(

It's not Hubster's software; it's the software for the cart.

Now I'm getting an internal error message and I can't even get to the home page. I'm sure you're trying to get everything working, but any suggestions would happily be appreciated.

Yeah at being open. But are you having technical problems again Pam? I hope not. I so want this to be a successful day for you. I'm off to bed now as it's 10.30pm here but I'll be back for another look and purchase tomorrow. If there is anymore left.

Janelle, it's just the load. There are just too many people right now. There's nothing we can do until it eases up a bit. We have four servers working right now, and it's not enough.

Regardless of the techy issues, you have some very lovely yarns!

Well I've been sitting in front of the computer for a number of hours waiting for the store to open. What I saw of it was absolutly lovely. I know I will shopping here a bunch.
However, with the volume of people in the store, I have been kicked of seven times and now I the internet is saying it can't even find the home page. Purchasing right at the opening was just not meant to be for me.
I will try and check later tonight to see if the items I had placed in my cart four, seperate times (but unable to complete the final page) are still available. I wish you all the best Pam, and I look forward to checking out all your wonderful designers...perhaps next week.

Hi Pam

I am going to come back later as there must be too many people on there all at once, one less might help.

I'm so sorry, Janelle. I feel sick that this is happening. Yes, please do try later tonight. I'm so sorry you sat there all day and then this happened. I'm in tears.

hepkitten, it's like I said to Janelle - it's just too many people. Try and get it in your cart and don't log off. It should still be there when you come back. I'm so sorry.

hepkitten said...

Hey, there, Pam, no tears...I think we all understand that these things can happen.

It'll be okay!

I apologize if my comment sounded snarky. I just have a few other things to do today and I need to get to them. I will definatly stop by this evening to see what's left (if anything!:))
It sure looks like your store is a sucess! Assuming nothing went wrong, I did get to sign the guest book and create an account so I should be receiving any store updates you send out. Yeah! Keep on bringing us these wonderful designers!

Yeah, but you want everything to be perfect. We've been working around the clock for days and days to get this right. I guess we were too successful. Actually, I think it was the announcement L&V made. Bless their souls - they have so many fans. My servers just don't know how to deal with them!

Pam the Yarn Goddess said...

Janelle, you didn't sound snarky at all. I don't blame you one bit. Thanks for hanging in there - it's totally out of my hands, and even Hubster is staring agape at the computer. We have literally hundreds of people in the store right now. It's just freezing up.

I've been here for awhile, too, Pam. But please don't worry about this. It's the first day, and glitches aren't surprising. I was able to register, at least, but I'm having the same cart issues.

I'll try later. Just want you to know that I was here and that I wish you the very best!

Thank you. :)

Pam, I decided to try one more time. I was able to get into the store, put an item in my cart then pushed the checkout. Nothing happened, so I pushed the continue shopping button and nothing happened. I pressed your icon and it took me to your home page and it now shows me as being logged in as someone else. It's the same person I was logged in as that I mentioned in my second post. That time I was able to logout and re-enter as myself. This time the system says logged out, re-loads a page and says welcome to _______ not me. I have tried to log out of this woman's account 5 times, with the same response. I think this may be a small bug in the system.

Pam, can you tell me if my purchase for one skein of the red TRI went through? My first name is Heather.

I *might* have purchased it...and now it's showing as sold out...?

When I got onto the site for the first time it said was signed is as someone else (I hadn't made an account yet) and so I clicked sign out so I didn't add things to Barbara's cart.. then it said that Wendy had signed out. So.... I'm going to wait to shop until the bugs are worked out. I'm glad you got it open though.

Pam the Yarn Goddess said...

Hello Hepkitten & Ms. Pancakes...

This is Mark (hubster?) here. I'm terribly aware of the problems currently going on, so I'm working double time to get it fixed.

I'll find out for you Hepkitten if you did indeed get your item. If you would send an email to support@yarny-goodness.com, we can respond to you directly.

And thanks to both of you for your understanding. I'm working presently to get the system into better shape ... the unanticipated load has caused what are normally solid subsystems to become a bit gummy. (Sorry for the technical talk) :)

If anyone wants to talk about the technical aspects of these problems feel free to send me a note at webmaster@yarny-goodness.com

Thanks,
Mark

Congratulations on your new shop. There are always opening day glitches; things will settle down soon. Happily, I was able to see all your offerings -- all new to me and quite beautiful. Lots of luck.

Congrats on the opening Pam! My only concern is for some reason when I was on the site it kept telling me I was logged in as Kellie Shore. Though you should know if you don't already, don't want kellie charged for lots of orders! :)

Congratulations!!

Congratulations, Pam!! I just got home and have only a little time to browse (besides, I'm sick :(), and have noticed a similar problem. Each time I go look at items, it's said I was logged in as a different customer (I've seen 3 different names so far). I signed the guestbook instead, so I didn't log someone off in the middle of their order (though while I signed the guestbook, it did say I was logged in as someone else, so I hoped it wouldn't add my email to their account).

Looks like great stuff; it's going to be hard to choose!

Thanks for telling me all the problems, everyone. The fact that everyone is experiencing the same problems tells us two things. One, the servers couldn't handle more than 500 people at once; two, there is a bug in the portion of the software that Mark didn't write. He's asleep right now (and I will be again in a few minutes), but I wanted to assure everybody that he's fixing the problems tonight while I (finally) knit.

Thank you all for being there for me today. You have no idea of what it meant to me. I have so many friends I didn't even know about. :) I do hope you come back to the shop once these problems are fixed. And don't be afraid to shop; you aren't being charged for anything until you go through PayPal, which is one of the things he's addressing. As long as you can get through checkout, then those items are yours; you just haven't paid for them.

Thank you again; you've made my opening day special, problems or not. :)
